Get ready, because the most dynamic duo in the bridal biz is back for an ExtravaGOWNza of all the drama before happily ever after next month.
The special event is where expectation meets expert advice, as brides-to-be arrive with an entourage of bridesmaids, mums, grandparents, siblings, aunts, cousins, friends and the like, whose unfiltered opinions can make or break the lead-up to the big day. Featuring new seasons of Say Yes to the Dress and Say Yes to the Dress: Lancashire, ExtravaGOWNza offers back-to-back mayhem and magic, as Randy Fenoli and Gok Wan respectively cater to the whims and whimsy of each client’s specific vision, and set out to design, deliver, and make dreams come true.
Pour a glass of bubbly, as TLC’s flagship franchise Say Yes to the Dress (8:30pm) returns to the world’s premier bridal salon, Kleinfeld’s Bridal in New York, for a new season of selecting, altering, and fitting each flawless dress in time to say, ‘I do’. Fashion Director Randy Fenoli is one of the most trusted names in bridal fashion and brings his unsurpassed dress knowledge and signature “head-to-hem” styling approach to every bride-to-be that walks through the doors. This season opens with cause for celebration, as it’s Randy’s birthday and the arrival of his new Beautiful Beginnings collection, when The Bachelor alumni Caila Quinn looks for a dress that truly means something to her, and not just her social media following. With clients ranging from the daring to the extravagant, from barely-there gowns to OTT masterpieces, Randy has a way of playing down the stress and upping the ante, pulling all the details together.
Then, it’s taffeta, tiaras, and tantrums galore as Say Yes to the Dress: Lancashire (9:30pm) heads to northern England where big personalities await style guru Gok Wan at Ava Rose Hamilton. The award-winning, family-run boutique, nestled in the English countryside is the calm before the storm, as the quaint little bridal haven sets the scene for complete chaos in an all-new season, starting with a very opinionated maid of honour and a bride struggling with a confidence crisis. And settle in with a brew, because there’s more drama in store, from a former pageant queen with a narrow-minded nan to a bride whose idea of a white wedding goes against her mother’s wishes. An expert in dressing women, Gok’s at the ready with advice on how to carry off any bridal look with the right attitude to make every bride-to-be feel like a princess.
ExtravaGOWNZA is part fashion show, part bridal story, and part family therapy, as relationships are put to the test over silk and lace, and confidence is found amongst glitter and pearls. The stories and characters that make each consult unique are ultimately the deciding factor in the most important dress they’ll ever buy!
