Today Show set to Travel Australia

Next week the Today show will Travel all around Australia.

Today  will be broadcasting live  from two different locations every day, with Karl Stefanovic and Lisa Wilkinson exploring some of Australia’s most stunning destinations. Richard Wilkins will be arranging all the “on the road” entertainment, while Stevie Jacobs will be surprising lucky viewers in towns and cities across the nation with the “Knock of Cash” giveaways.

This massive week will feature stories of everyday local heroes as well as superstar guests and performers, including Jessica Mauboy who will perform her new single, The Day Before I Met You, from her album Beautiful – live at Uluru.

TODAY co-host Lisa Wilkinson said: “We know we have the most stunning scenery in the world right here on our doorstep and we can’t wait to showcase that incredible diversity.“In five action-packed days we’ll cover areas including the stark beauty of Uluru, the charm of country Victoria, and we’ll have our very own nautical adventure and spend a night on a stunning cruise liner docked in Sydney Harbour. And when it comes to holiday dollars, you just won’t get better value for your Aussie dollar right now than right here in our own backyard, and we want to celebrate that.”

Co-host Karl Stefanovic said: “Australia rocks. I plan to visit every pie shop and pub in five days. It’s going to be like Schoolies for oldies. Pump it up, people!”

Tourism Australia Managing Director, John O’Sullivan, welcomed the grass-roots advocacy that ‘Today’s We Love Australia’ week would create for Australian holidays.

“When it comes to promoting their country as a holiday destination Australians are passionate advocates for sharing their inside knowledge with the rest of the world especially on social media – whether it’s stories and images of our pristine beaches, cosmopolitan cities, or food and wine,” Mr O’Sullivan said “Not surprisingly, Australia has the largest destination Facebook page in the world with more than six million fans, including 1.4 million Australians who are actively engaged in telling the world about the many travel experiences and attractions we have to offer and why they should travel to our country. No doubt Karl and Lisa and the rest of the Today show team will help to inspire a new wave of advocacy for holidaying in Australia that will help us to attract many more visitors to our country in the future.”
