This Week the guests for The Project are Jamie Durie, Sandra Bullock, Mia Freedman and HG Nelson.
Celebrity landscape designer Jamie Durie joins us live at the desk on Monday night. Jamie is one of our most successful exports and his career is going from strength to strength. We will also visit Delta Downs, a massive cattle station in North Queensland which has been the most successful indigenous owned and managed business in the country, but its future is now at risk. We look at how the drought, live export band and disease, has driven this business to the point of going broke.
On Tuesday night, Carrie sits down with Academy Award winning actress Sandra Bullock who is in Australia to talk about her latest comedy film, The Heat, also starring Melissa McCarthy.
American magician Wayne Houchin shot to fame when he was set on fire during a television stunt which went horribly wrong. On Wednesday night, he performs his most difficult trick. We will also meet Peter and Janet Flann who run Greyhound Rescue, a not-for-profit organisation that rescues and finds new homes for greyhounds no longer wanted by the racing industry.
On Thursday night we look at the serious health issue of STI rates which have been on the increase especially among our youth. We investigate what’s behind the rise and meet two young people whose lives have forever changed.
We wrap up the week as Mia Freedman joins us on the desk and we meet Supernan, a 70-year-old body builder who took up the sport at age 50. HG Nelson will preview the weekend of sport and we find out where Sam Johnson has landed in his epic adventure to raise money for breast cancer research.
