The X Files February 21

The X Files February 21

The penultimate episode of The X Files has an Australian actor that explodes on the screen.

In a stand-out episode called Babylon, The X-Files explores terrorist acts, drug-induced hallucinations, motherhood, deity, and the power of the human mind.

After an art gallery exhibiting potentially offensive artwork is blown up by a suicide bomber (played by Sydney actor Artin John, pictured here) Mulder and Scully seek to communicate with the comatose bomber in order to prevent a future attack.

Back at their FBI office, Mulder and Scully meet Special Agents Miller (Robbie Amell) and Einstein (Lauren Ambrose), a pair of young recruits who are assigned to the bombing and who bear a striking resemblance to our heroes. (Doppelgangers are not new to The X-Files, with mirror images of Mulder and Scully featuring several times in the original series.)

Miller and Einstein push Mulder and Scully to examine their own beliefs as Scully seeks answers from neuroscience and Mulder from mysticism.

At just 22, Artin John is one of Australia’s up and coming acting exports. His most recent appearances include Lucifer, The Returned, iZombie, The Tomorrow People, Supernatural, Arrow and Emily Owens M.D. Artin comes from a theatrical background but has successfully made the transition to film and television.

The X Files airs 8:30pm Sunday on Ten
