The Block Sky High Season Six – The Final Week Begins

As contestants prepare for their penultimate room reveal, they are also preparing for their final week? Who will triumph?

Contestants are frantically trying to get their rooms done in time for room reveal. The main problems are encountered by Bec & George who have been plagued by problems since the start of the week thanks to a narrow trench.

Meanwhile, Kim randomly decides to get into the snag business. She goes down to a local sausage factory to pick out her favourite products before beginning a food stall outside The Block. Money raised at the BBQ will go to Alzheimer’s research.

Alisa & Lysandra are working on some string art for their bathroom. This shouldn’t go down well! Meanwhile, something that should go well is Bec & George’s floating bed which is successfully installed by Tom.

On reveal day, the twins find out their wallpaper has bubbled as they did not put an undercoat on it. But that problem pales in insignificance when it comes to Bec & George’s unfinished, hardly-furnished bathroom.

Luckily, as you’d expect, everyone finishes on time!

The judges judge Madi & Jarrod’s bedroom first. They love it. Neale calls it stunning and they all call it unique. Darren likes the colour palette. This is what they should have been doing in their own apartment. They also love the ensuite with Neale saying it complements the bedroom perfectly. The marble vanity is a hit.

Kim & Matt are next. They don’t feel like they’re stepping into a new room as they’ve reused elements from their apartment. Neale doesn’t like the lighting in one corner of the room, but Darren disagrees. The walk-in robe is received better.

Trixie & Johnno had to renovate Matt & Kim’s ensuite and the judges love the continuity and how it didn’t impact the couple’s deign flare.

The twins are next with their powder room, foyer and entry. The entry is void of positive comments but they do like the floor! They also did a laundry and the judges think it is ‘on form’ with what they expect from the twins but it could have been done better. The string art in the bathroom was seen as ‘budget art’. They like the portrait of the original floor plan in the hallway.

To Bec & George and their bedroom, walk-in and ensuite. The floating bed was a huge wow-factor. It was a massive statement. They love the storage. Neale seems to love everything. The walk-in robe was a great use of space. The bathroom was smart, simple with luxury touches.

It’s time to find out who wins. We won’t see the scores just yet as Scott announces the winner beforehand. The winners are… taking $20,000 off their reserve is… Madi & Jarrod!

In second place is Bec & George, taking $15,000 off. In third place is Trixie & Johnno, shaving $10,000 off their reserve price.

The scores (Darren, Shaynna, Neale and total):

Trixie & Johnno: 9, 8, 8.5= 25.5

Madi & Jarrod: 9.5, 9, 9.5 = 28

Bec & George: 9, 9.5, 9 = 27.5

Kim & Matt: 9, 7.5, 8= 24.5

Alisa & Lysandra: 7, 6.5, 6.5= 20

With that done, only one room left for everybody.
