The Block: Sky High Season Six – Room Reveal 4

The Block: Sky High Season Six – Room Reveal 4

It’s been a big week. There have been rule breaks galore and bed head drama but who will win the final bedroom and ensuite?

Matt thinks everyone’s ganging up on him and he’s had enough. He will be reporting any future rule breaks the contestants do, especially noise restrictions.

With 24 hours to go until reveal everyone’s got trades galore and it’s a very hot day. First up, Jarrod has a blocked shower hole and it needs to be sorted so the tiler can continue. On the penthouse floor one of Trixie and Johnno’s electricians has hit another water pipe so he’s hoping it doesn’t leak through to Jarrod’s ceiling but we can see there’s already a water mark there when Keith manages to fix the shower hole. Matt and Kim’s vanity drawers are on the wrong side. Bec has slipped and her foot looks swollen so she’s going to get that checked after she does the shopping. Meanwhile the twins’ floor is a mess with everything all over the floor. One of the twins has cut their foot on the wood.

All five floors are busy with trades and some contestants are painting the outside of the block so that the carpets can go in. while the carpets are being laid everyone is evicted from there floors. During that time Johnno paints the bed head while George puts down the floor heating. After doing the shopping Bec and Lysandra are at the doctors while Matt and Kim have called a body corporate meeting to discuss the use of power tools on public holidays.

The teams are surprised because Matt was using the tools late at night and no one has said anything. Not much is resolved. Level 3, 4 and 5 say Matt thinks he’s being ganged up on and he’s retaliating because of yesterday. To relieve the tension the teams have a pool party and barbeque. With two and a half hours all teams are under the pump to complete their rooms but they do so just in the nick of time.

Now it’s time for judging and first up are the twins. Shaynna loves how they set the bed in to have functional wardrobes on either side. Darren calls it clever and the fact the bedhead isn’t fancy is loved because it makes the wood the hero. It’s called beautiful and genius by Neale. Onto the bathroom. The light is stunning and it’s a simple impressive bathroom but its missing a towel rack.

Next up are Matt and Kim who have a great bedhead according to Darren. Neale says it’s part bedroom part office and it feels very cool. They also love the timber skirting and how it links everything together. Shaynna loves the room and it shows how much they have grown from week one and the crime scene. Darren loves the ensuite and calls the wall a work of art. Shaynna loves the light behind the mirror and they can’t fault it

Bec and George are next and they have a day bed/office. Neale likes the idea but the styling is weak. Darren says the room is narrow and Shaynna thinks the office should have featured more than their bed which has the headboard from the challenge. In the bathroom Shaynna loves the tiles which are diagonal. Darren loves the tap and Neale calls it amazingly sexy.

Madi and Jarrod are next. Neale says in terms of colour, design and execution it is one of the best he has seen on the Block. Shaynna says they have nailed their market. The ensuite can’t be faulted and they love the tiles and shower.

Trixie and Johnno are last. The judges say it feels small but they love the fact they have a linen cupboard and call it penthouse thinking. Neale calls the bedroom a good simple room but it’s missing its wow factor. He also finds the bedhead over powering. The ensuite feels Claustrophobic due to the spa bath. But overall quality and execution is spot on.

We discover that they have all earned another star.

Here are their scores. The scores go from Darren, Shaynna and Neale for each contestant.

TRIXIE & JOHNNO: 9, 8.5, 8.5 = 26

MADI & JARROD: 10, 9.5, .10 = 29.5

BEC & GEORGE: 8, 8, 8 = 24

KIM & MATT: 10, 9.5, 9.5 = 29

ALISA & LYSANDRA: 9.5 8.5, 9 = 27

This means that Madi and Jarrod have won the week and $10.000. Next week is kitchen week.
