Thalia and Bianca Depart My Kitchen Rules

Thalia and Bianca have become the next casualty  in the My Kitchen Rules Headquarters .

The two best friends from Tasmania have just narrowly missed out on a spot in the top 4 after Halana and Vikki’s entrees of braised octopus and clams with tomatoes and peas and kataifi wrapped prawns with zucchini salad were given a near perfect score of 9 out of 10 from judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel. But their desserts of hazelnut mousse cake and galaktoboureko with ice cream and grilled figs, failed to find favour with the judges with Pete scoring 5 out of 10 and Manu, 4 out of 10.

Helena and Vikki were awarded a combined group score of 24 out of 40 from fellow contestants for their three course menu with rivals Chloe and Kelly scoring the girls the lowest with 5 out of 10. But their overall score of 65 out of 110 was enough to keep the twins in the competition, signalling elimination for Tasmanian best friends Thalia and Bianca who were sitting on the bottom of the leader board with 58 out of 110.

We came with a love of food, but we are leaving with a true passion and we know that this is what we want to do with the rest of our lives,” said Bianca of the pair’s time in the competition.Added Thalia: “I got to cook alongside my best friend. I’m so glad we got to do this together.”

Victorian twins Helena and Vikki, South Australian mums Bree and Jessica, Western Australian best friends Chloe and Kelly and Queensland surfer dads Paul and Blair are the top 4 teams heading into MKR’s grand final.

The battle for MKR’s $250,000 prize money begins Sunday night (April 27, 6.30pm) with Paul and Blair facing off against Chloe and Kelly in the first semi-final. The winning team will head straight to Tuesday night’s (April 29, 7.30pm) grand final.
