Ten scores big at the Emmys 2014

Network Ten has scored some much deserved Emmy love.

Modern Family claimed its place in the Emmy history books, winning Outstanding Comedy Series Award for its  fifth consecutive year. Modern Family is now tied with Frasier as the all-time most-winning series in this  category.
Ty Burrell claimed the Award for Most Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy for his role as Phil Dunphy in Modern Family, the second time he has been recognised. He won in the same category in 2011.  Modern Family Director Gail Mancuso claimed the Award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy, for the  episode titled Las Vegas, the only adults-only episode of the program that featured the six parents taking a  weekend break to Sin City.

Most Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series was awarded to Julianna Marguiles for her lead role as attorney  Alicia Florick in the critically acclaimed courtroom drama The Good Wife.

Jessica Lange was awarded Most Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for her role as Supreme  Witch Fiona in American Horror Story: Coven. Lange has starred in all three instalments of the series and has been confirmed to star in the  upcoming fourth season, American Horror Story: Freak Show.

Marking her swan song in American Horror Story, Lange stars as the manager of one of the last remaining  freak shows in 1950s America and the series explores the survival of her troupe of curious performers.  American Horror Story: Coven actress Kathy Bates took the Award for Most Outstanding Supporting Actress in  a Miniseries or Movie for her role as Madame Delphine LaLaurie in the series. She will also return in the new season which is expected to be Fastracked to Eleven after it’s US launch in October.Meanwhile Modern Family wll also return before 2014 ends.
