As the Supercars take to the grid for the final race in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, Network Ten is trackside all weekend delivering every minute of the action at the inaugural Coates Hire Newcastle 500
The drivers are ready to take on a challenging circuit that runs through the eastern end of the Newcastle CBD, taking in scenic views along Shortland Esplanade, Nobbys Beach and Newcastle Harbour.
Five drivers remain in the running for the championship. Six-time winner Jamie Whincup leads, with rising star Scott McLaughlin just 30 points behind, eager to claim his first ever Supercars crown.
Also in the hunt is McLaughlin’s Shell V-Power Racing teammate Fabian Coulthard, Whincup’s Red Bull Holden Racing teammate and defending champion Shane van Gisbergen and former Bathurst 1000 winner, Chaz Mostert.
TEN Sport’s Matt White leads the commentary team, alongside former Supercars driver and expert commentator Mark Larkham, current Nissan Motorsport Supercars driver Rick Kelly and reporter Kate Peck.
