There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as after 14 years Melissa Doyle left the Sunrise couch

Famous faces, colleagues, family and fans all came down to farewell her after more than a decade on Sunrise.

Throughout the show special farewell messages from famous faces including 7News reporters, Jennifer Hawkins and Delta Goodrem were played as well as live #farewellmel messages that were shown on-screen and featured on the outside of the Channel 7 building.

Mel’s husband John, daughter Talia and son Nicholas joined her on set as Sunrise co-host Kochie paid tribute to her in a special ‘This Is Your Life’ segment that included everyone from first make up artist to her best girl friend Sharon

The following press release was sent out just hours ago confirming what was announced on the show.

Seven News at 7: Melissa Doyle will present a live half-hour bulletin at 7pm on 7TWO from Monday August 12.

– Seven’s Afternoon News: Melissa Doyle and Matt White will co-host an all-new national afternoon bulletin on Seven from Monday August 19 at 4pm.
