– Stan today announced that the hilarious and hugely successful Stan Original Series No Activity, Stan’s first original comedy series, is back for a new instalment with a stand-alone Christmas special due for release in December.
No Activity: The Night Before Christmas will reunite the original award-winning creative team of Patrick Brammall (Glitch, Upper Middle Bogan, A Moody Christmas) and Trent O’Donnell (New Girl, Brooklyn 99, The Good Place, A Moody Christmas), who will also direct, as well as series producers, Jungle Entertainment.
The festive one-off special is an improvised comedy that follows detectives Hendy and Stokes (Patrick Brammall, Darren Gilshenan) on their latest police assignment, this time with a seasonal twist. Tasked with a Christmas Eve stakeout, the pair monitor the scene from their parked car as a disgruntled Santa Claus holds a group of innocent Christmas shoppers hostage inside a suburban shopping mall.
The AACTA Award-winning and Logie Award-nominated Stan Original Series No Activity, with Jungle Entertainment as co-producers, was adapted last into a hit US comedy produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Funny Or Die for CBS All Access and starring J.K. Simmons, Tim Meadows, Amy Sedaris and Bob Odenkirk. Season 2 is currently in production.
Fresh from their US success, Trent O’Donnell and Patrick Brammall return to where it all began for this new Christmas adventure with the series’ beloved characters back on the job.
No Activity: The Night Before Christmas will premiere exclusively on Stan later this year.
