Showcase set to Show Me A Hero

Later this month Showcase  will screen the new miniseries from HBO Show Me A Hero.

The six-part miniseries is adapted from the non-fiction book of the same name by Lisa Belkin. It includes an incredible cast with Oscar Isaac, Jim Belushi, Catherine Keener, Alfred Molina and Winona Ryder

In 1987, in an America generations removed from the greatest civil rights struggles of the 1960s, the young mayor Nick Wasicsko (Oscar Isaac from Inside Llewyn Davis and Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens) of a mid-sized American city is faced with a federal court order that says he must build a small number of low-income housing units in the white neighbourhoods of his town. His attempt to do so tears the entire city apart, paralyses the municipal government and, ultimately, destroys the mayor and his political future.  .

Show Me a Hero airs Mondays at 7.30pm AEST from August 17 on Showcase.
