Shannon’s Missed Opportunity

Shannon’s Missed Opportunity

With Nick  choosing to spend more time with certain bachelorettes, tension starts to simmer in the mansion.

At the group date, the remaining seven bachelorettes participated in the inaugural Bachelor Segway relay. With Brittany and Brooke as team captains, the girls had to race around a bush track on two wheels, answer a question about Nick correctly before tapping her teammate in.

Brittany’s yellow team made use of the rule that any team could sub Nick onto the Segway for one lap, however with Nick weighing more than the other girls, his meandering pace proved more of a hindrance than a benefit and their tactic backfired.

Trying to make up for lost time, Brittany sped around the track, hoping to catch up to blue team captain Brooke. Taking a corner too quickly, Brittany took a tumble off the Segway.

Proving she was tougher than she looks, Brittany jumped up and dusted herself off, walking to the finish line but still losing to the blue team.

Jealously flew amongst the other bachelorettes when Nick chose Brooke yet again to share one-on-one time with.

In a romantic bush retreat, Nick revealed he could see future potential with Brooke. Hoping their connection could keep moving forward, Brooke accepted Nick’s offering of a rose and sealed the day with a kiss.

After opening up to Nick during some previous one-on-one time, Emily scored a single date, partaking in something close to her heart.

Meeting at the Sydney Opera House, Nick revealed they would be watching a rehearsal for the Australian Ballet. Afterwards, Nick and Emily were invited to try their hand at ballet themselves. Needing a few tips from the professionals as to how to get into his ballet attire, Nick was visibly out of his comfort zone but keen to give ballet a try.

After the warm up, it was time to rehearse a routine as a couple. With Emily being a dance teacher, she helped an eager Nick through the tough ballet sequence before changing into full costume to perform in front of Australian Ballet’s principal dancers.

Back at the mansion, talk between Brittany, Cass and Sophie turned to Brooke’s private time with Nick following the group date. Scared by the fact there are only limited roses to be received, they all felt uneasy and unsure as to where they stood with Nick.

While Emily and Nick shared a picturesque view from the Sydney Opera House, the deep connection they shared during their last time alone seemed to have passed, with the date ending with a peck, a hug and no rose from Nick.

Entering the cocktail party, Osher revealed hometowns were just around the corner. With one final single date up for grabs, it was up to the bachelorettes to prove to Nick they were worthy of the coveted alone time.

Nick walked into the mansion and made a beeline for Shannon. Putting her heart on the line, Shannon believed that if there was a future on the outside of the mansion for them, they would be the best versions of themselves together.

Feeling the pressure, Sophie set up a whiteboard with colourful markers to explain to Nick exactly how she felt about him. Putting it all on the line did not go unnoticed, and Sophie walked away with a single date to be used at another time.

Visibly disappointed after opening up to Nick, Shannon teared up, stepping away from the group for some alone time.

With Brooke already holding a rose, uncertainly clouded the remaining bachelorettes. After five roses were handed out, it was Shannon who ended up empty handed and regretting her decision not to kiss Nick on their first date.

Shannon said: “I feel really disappointed. I thought I knew what he was looking for but obviously I had no clue. But I’ve just got to hope there’s someone else out there for me.”
