Shannon Berry Joins Offspring

16-year-old Perth actress Shannon Berry to the cast of Offspring.

Shannon debuts next Wednesday as feisty teenager Brody Jordan when Billie Proudman (Kat Stewart) encounters Brody, who is the daughter of her estranged friend Stacey Jordan (Sacha Horler), whom Offspring viewers met in season one. After an altercation over fare evasion with a transport ticket officer, Billie comes to Brody’s aid and is strangely drawn to this tough young delinquent.

Network Ten Head of Drama, Rick Maier, said: “These are big shoes for anyone to fill, stepping into such a strong ensemble, but Shannon does it with ease and poise way beyond her years. She’s just terrific.”

Producer, Endemol Shine Banks, Imogen Banks, said: “Shannon Berry is a 16-year-old treasure from Perth. She plays Brody, the daughter of Billie’s old nemesis, Stacey.

“Brody lands in Melbourne and Billie finds herself a sudden and unconvinced guardian to the young, directionless teenager, a situation that leads to all sorts of emotional upheaval, in true Offspring style.”

Shannon has previously starred in the television series Hunters. In 2012, she played the young, autistic character of Tib in the Stirling Players Youth theatre production Rabbit, earning her the Adjudicator’s Award for Excellence in Acting.

Shannon will debut in Offspring  next Wednesday, 13 July at 8.30pm on Ten
