Seven’s programming is taking on a bit of a magical theme next week.
The two part Mini Series Houdini will run over two Tuesday nights. it’s lead cast includes Adrien Brody as Harry Houdini and is well worth checking out.
Houdini is the story of a man who can defy death, but who really was the man behind the escapes? The event miniseries follows the epic tales of Harry Houdini as he emerges as America’s first bonafide world-renowned superstar. Academy Award winner Adrien Brody and Kristen Connolly star in the two-part event which follows the world-renowned master of escape’s transformation from immigrant to superstar. Driven and disciplined, Houdini constantly pushed his physical limits to accomplish feats of strength that amazed all. And though they saw what he wanted them to see, his reality was more elusive than his escapes.
From humble beginnings at circus sideshows to sold out concert halls in Europe, Night 1 of Houdini follows the rise of the boy Ehrich Weiss as he becomes the man Harry Houdini, master escapologist. The rabbi’s son from Wisconsin is the epitome of the American Dream as he makes his way through the early 20th century vaudeville craze and emerges as America’s first bonafide world renowned superstar.
