Ten has locked in a date for the new season of Scorpion.

The second season premiere features Rock legend KISS frontman Gene Simmons in a guest role.

Season one concluded with the team unsure about their future but coming together for their most important mission yet: to save Walter’s life.

Season two begins with Walter recovering in hospital and Agent Cabe Gallo working in his new job as a consultant for a crime television series.

Cabe’s new role sees him brush shoulders with Simmons, who appears as himself, working as an actor on the show.

But Cabe’s time in television is cut short when he receives a call from Homeland Security offering him his old job back. The new Director of Homeland Security reunites Team Scorpion and they face their biggest challenge yet: a nuclear-powered Russian satellite has been knocked out of orbit and must be diverted before it detonates over Southern California.

Can the team act quickly enough to save the lives of millions of people?

Scorpion returns 6:30 pm Sunday on Ten
