Well, then that was a bit of a surprise that no one saw coming.
After three amazing single dates, Sam chose Sasha and Michael to go through to the final of The Bachelorette
On his single date, Sasha conquered his fear of heights when Sam surprised him with a tandem skydive. Things were much calmer for Michael’s single date: a whale-watching cruise followed by a candlelit dinner under the water.
For her single date with fan favourite Richie, Sam took him to the Victorian snowfields, where he experienced snow for the first time. Despite Sam’s eagerness for him to open up, Richie still struggled to let his walls down and show Sam how he felt.
Later, in the season’s most emotional rose ceremony yet, Sam choked back tears as she offered her two roses to Sasha and Michael. After walking Richie outside, Sam thanked him in a private chat before he left the mansion.
Sam said: “I think you are so amazing. You have the most beautiful soul and you’ve made me laugh. You have grown so much and completely come out of your shell, and I thank you so much for taking the chance and doing this.”
On his departure, Richie said: “I would have really liked that guy to be me, to have that chance to really show Sam how much I can really love a girl and treat her like an absolute princess.”
In tonight’s final episode of The Bachelorette Australia at 7:30 pm, Sam takes her remaining two Bachelors to New Zealand’s North Island for the biggest single dates of the year, before the series’ stunning conclusion in a fairy tale location.
