Recipie to Riches finds it’s meat king

Last night’s Recipe to Riches was all about BBQ.

Michael Cainero’s sizzling pork, apple and cinnamon sausages take out the barbeque category. His sausages will be on sale nationally in Woolworths stores for one week from today. 

With barbeque season beginning to heat up, what better way to celebrate than by throwing a truly tasty snag on the grill? Aussies love a good barbeque and it’s a food category that is worth $1.5 billion annually – and now Michael is part of the action.

“It’s a dream come true,” says Michael, 31, from Brisbane. “Hopefully a lot of people from around Australia will enjoy the sausages as much as my family and friends.”

As a category winner, Michael pockets $10,000 and now has the chance to win $100,000 and a business partnership with Woolworths in the Grand Final.

“It means the world to my family, especially considering what we have been through with our daughter,” says concreter Michael, who devised the gluten-free recipe after his infant daughter Isabelle successfully battled leukemia.
