Ian Thorpe Joins Glassgow 2014 Commentary

Ian Thorpe has become the next big name to join Channel Ten for the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

One of the most successful swimmers the world has ever seen, Ian will join TEN Sport’s Mel McLaughlin in Glasgow to bring viewers extensive coverage of the Games, backed by a stellar team of hosts and expert commentators for Ten’s extensive coverage of the event.

Ian Thorpe said: “I am very excited to be joining Network Ten as a part of their commentary team for this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, alongside Mel and a number of the country’s most successful athletes. “The team at TEN have been great so far and I am looking forward to getting back into work following my shoulder surgery. “I have some very fond memories of the Commonwealth Games. They were a big part of my career and are a fantastic opportunity for athletes to represent their country on an international scale,” he said.

The Commonwealth Games will air live and exclusive on Ten and One from July 24 to August 4, 2014
