Gold Logie Countdown Steve Peacocke

Gold Logie Countdown Steve Peacocke

Steve Peacocke is one of Home and Away’s biggest stars – but can he finally score Gold?

Steve Peacocke knew he wanted to be an actor at the age of 16 however he didn’t pursue acting until he was 19, after spending a year as a Jackaroo. During his time at university Steve was in many theatre productions.

He entered television with a guest role in All Saints in 2007 and guested in the 2008 telemovie Emerald Falls as a bushwalker. He has also had small roles in Packed to the Rafters and Rake.

His big break came in 2011 when he was cast in a lead role in Home and Away as Darryl Braxton – a character that has been extremely popular with both fans and critics alike.

In 2012, Peacocke won the Most Popular New Male Talent Logie for his portrayal of Brax. He followed that up in 2013 with a Most Popular Actor Win and his first Gold Logie nomination. In late 2013, he stepped away from the sandy shores of Summer Bay to take part in the big screen adaptation of Hercules in which he played the Supporting Role of Stephanos alongside Dwayne Johnson.

In 2014 he scored his second most Popular Actor nomination for the second year running, but missed out on scoring back-to-back wins. He also scored a second Gold Logie nomination but was unsuccessful at claiming the top prize.

Earlier this year, Steve announced his departure from Home and Away to focus on a career in Hollywood. He filmed his final scenes in December 2014 and they are tipped to go to air in late May or early June.

On Sunday Peacoke will have a good chance at being named Most Popular Actor for the second time and has his third shot at Australian TV’s most coveted award, before he departs on screen in a few weeks’ time.
