As we approach the 2016 TV Week Logie Awards, we take an in-depth look at our six Gold Logie Nominees, starting off with 2014 Gold Logie winner, Scott Cam.
Scott Cam first appeared on our TV screens in 2000 as the builder for Backyard Blitz, staying on the show until it ended in 2008. The show managed to pick up the Most Popular Lifestyle Program award five years in a row, between 2002 and 2006. He also hosted his own Friday night lifestyle program, Our Place, but unfortunately, it was axed after a few episodes in early 2005.
In 2008, he started an on-air partnership with Shelly Craft when they teamed up to renovate homes for deserving people on Domestic Blitz. The show ended its regular run in 2010 but has since had a couple of one-off specials, in 2012 and 2013, with Block contestants from those years helping out.
Since 2010, Scott has hosted Nine’s reality program The Block, also with the help of Shelly Craft. The show sees four couples take on planning and construction of a rundown site, to turn it into four homes or apartments, depending on the brief given to them. The Block has won Most Popular Reality program three years in a row since 2011, losing out in 2014 to My Kitchen Rules. At the 2014 Logies, Cam picked up his first Most Popular Presenter Logie, as well as taking home the Gold.
In 2015, The Block picked up another award for Most Popular Reality Program, and Scott was seen on two seasons of The Block, as well as fronting Reno Rumble. However, despite the popularity of both shows, he was unable to walk away with a second Gold Logie.
This year, Scott Cam will again return for another season of The Block, and has just come off hosting the second season of Reno Rumble.
Will his third go for Gold be a success? Find out on Sunday night!
