Gold Logie Countdown Hamish and Andy

Gold Logie Countdown Hamish and Andy

Since Hamish and Andy do everything together it’s a given I would combine their work.

Hamish and Andy first come to everybody’s attention on a national scale when they were named hosts of a new Seven Network variety program, The Hamish and Andy Show, in 2004.

In 2005, after the show failed, they were asked to develop the comedy program Real Stories. The show mimicked a standard current affairs format for Ten by Rove McManus and aired on Ten in 2006.

From 2007 to 2009 they appeared on Rove on a fortnightly basis and also undertook the first Caravan Of Courage where, over a two-week period, they travelled 4000 km from Melbourne to Queensland with their adventures broadcast on their segment of Rove. They were also backstage correspondents at the Logies.

In 2008 they had a guest role on Neighbours and undertook a second Caravan Of Courage, this time going from Melbourne to Darwin in 13 days. They also were part of the Logie and Aria Award ceremonies.

They regularly appeared on The Project and made various appearances on Talking ‘Bout Your Generation, as well as Spicks And Specks throughout the show’s run. In 2009 they had a third adventure as part of their Caravan of Courage, travelling 5000 km from Miami to L.A. They also were guests on The Jay Leno Show.

In 2010 they took part in a 4th Caravan Of Courage, travelling across Wales, Scotland, England and Ireland in a 2 week period and the special rated well.

In 2011 the pair signed to the Nine Network to produce Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year. The concept was that they never took a gap year after high school, so they would film their many adventures through the series.

In 2012 they undertook another Gap Year but this time in Europe, as well as a 5th caravan of courage to see who was better – Australia or New Zealand.  They took home the Logie for Most Popular Entertainment Program for The Gap Year and Hamish was nominated for Most Popular Presenter, but lost the award to Adam Hills. Hamish took home the Gold Logie in 2012.

In 2013 Hamish and Andy were both nominated for Most Popular Presenter which Hamish won. Their Euro Gap Year was nominated for Most Popular Light Entertainment Program but lost out to The Voice. They also took another Gap Year, this time to Asia.

In 2014 they were nominated for, and won, Most Popular Light Entertainment Program for their Asian Gap Year. They both scored a Popular Presenter nomination, while Andy Lee scored his first Gold Logie nomination, but both awards were won by Scott Cam. They also undertook a fourth consecutive Gap year, this time to South America.

Sunday sees both boys battling it out for gold, but only Andy scored a Presenter nomination.

Will either be successful at scoring an award?
