Getaway, Australia’s longest running lifestyle program, returns for another season on Saturday.
This year beauty queen and television personality Jesinta Campbell, legendary Brownlow Medallist Shane Crawford, Big Brother housemates Tim Dormer and Tahan Lew Fatt, and television and radio personality Charli Robinson will join Catriona Rowntree, Jason Dundas, Livinia Nixon and the Getaway team as special guest presenters.
Viewers will be taken on amazing journeys around the world, experiencing the beauty of locations from Africa, Canada and France to the Amazon and Antarctica. In a series of special episodes to begin the year, the Getaway team explore their own backyard, visiting the Gold Coast’s favourite theme parks for an adrenaline rush. Jesinta Campbell and Jason Dundas brave the rides at Movie World, including Jason’s stomach-turning descent on the Green Lantern roller coaster, which is the steepest inverted drop in the Southern Hemisphere. Keeping the excitement going, they then venture to Wet’n’Wild Water Park.
Charli Robinson travels to Sea World to meet Henry, Australia’s only baby polar bear, and Tim and Tahan get a free pass to explore Dreamworld, their home for three months while they were confined to the Big Brother House.
Shane Crawford battles seasickness and his fear of snakes, embarking on an epic cruise to the Galápagos Islands, the Amazon and Antarctica. Spanning
three episodes, Shane’s guest appearance sees him snorkelling alongside giant sea turtles, meeting native Amazonians and coming face-to-face with penguins, seals, pods of whales and the numbing cold of Antarctica.
