The Bachelorette’s search for the one has come down to the final two Bachelors, Matty and Lee, after Georgia said goodbye to Queensland Bachelor Jake in the penultimate episode of the 2016 season of The Bachelorette
Tonight, Georgia and Lee soared high on a scenic helicopter ride, Georgia and Jake enjoyed a sailing trip around Sydney Harbour and, in an emotionally-charged moment, Matty told Georgia he was falling in love with her.
Georgia and Lee’s epic date began with a scenic tour over Sydney in a helicopter. The ride took a romantic twist when Georgia pointed out that the locations they were flying over were the settings of their single dates.
Aware of Georgia’s desire for him to open up, Lee admitted that the idea of having a special someone in his life used to scare him, but he was unable to hide his excitement at the thought of sharing his world and family with Georgia.
Jake’s single date saw the duo set sail in a super yacht across Sydney Harbour. Certain of their chemistry, Georgia still had queries about Jake’s mindset and his plans for the future, in particular, if he would be willing to move to Melbourne.
Georgia’s final date saw her collect Matty in a sleek black Porsche. Arriving at a gin distillery, the pair could not hold back their laughter as they created their very own customised gin.
Later, in the intimate setting of a candlelit spa, Matty took a leap of faith and told Georgia that he was falling in love with her. His brave display of emotion resulted in the most heart-stopping kiss of the season.
Faced with her most difficult decision yet, Georgia struggled to settle on which of her three suitors to send home. With a heavy heart, she bid farewell to Jake, reasoning that she could not bear to tear him away from his tightknit family in Queensland.
Jake said: “I’m really, really devastated. That hurts and it sucks. I don’t like goodbyes and it was a goodbye. It wasn’t a see-you-soon. That’s the end of that.
“I really showed Georgia the true me and I really wore my heart on my sleeve for the first time in quite a long time. I’m not sure what to think or feel. I’m sure it’s going to hit me like a freight train soon.”
The Bachelorette Australia comes to a dramatic conclusion tonight in the tropical metropolis of Singapore. Georgia will go on one last romantic and adventurous single date with Matty and Lee before they face their toughest obstacle so far, meeting Georgia’s family.
