Empire and Elementary launch update

Ten has now locked in both Empire and Elementary to preimere next week.

Empire Centres  on Lucious Lyon, the head of a music empire whose three sons and ex-wife battle for his throne, Empire has defied the laws of broadcast television by increasing its audience every single week since it launched in the US.

With a stellar cast led by Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard (Crash, Hustle & Flow, The Butler, Iron Man), this powerful family drama has posted more consecutive ratings gains than any other new broadcast show in the US in at least 20 years.

Already renewed for a second season, Empire boasts a galaxy of guest stars, including supermodel Naomi Campbell, soul legend Gladys Knight, UK singer Rita Ora, Academy Award winners Jennifer Hudson and Cuba Gooding Jr., actors Gabourey Sidibe and Raven-Symone, and singers Macy Gray, Courtney Love and Snoop Dogg.

Having seen the Empire pilot last night  can assure it is the best new show of the year.

Empire launches 9pm Sunday on Ten.

Meanwhile Us series Elementary will finally unleash it’s 3rd season on Monday night.

Season 2 ended with Sherlock and Joan’s partnership on the rocks. Can it be rebuilt again in Season 3? In this season premiere of Elementary, Holmes returns to New York with a new apprentice and a renewed interest in working with the NYPD after being fired by London’s MI6. However, Captain Gregson will not let him resume consulting for the department without permission from his former partner, Watson, the NYPD’s new go-to private investigator.

10pm Monday on Ten
