The new queen of daytime TV has revealed that a trip to Australia is on the agenda this year. It will be the first time the shpw has been filmed outside the US..The announcement was made at a taping over the weekend with the episode going to air today in Australia. Studio audience members were thrown into a screaming frenzy when DeGeneres revealed they would all receive airfares and accommodation to experience their own Australian adventure.
In a coup for wellness brand Swisse, DeGeneres will shoot segments throughout Victoria and New South Wales, as part of a commercial agreement to support Swisse’s launch in the US..
Despite being married to Melbourne girl Portia de Rossi, it will also be the first time she has ever set foot in the country.
“I am partnering with SWISSE and I love it because they’re an Australian company and they want to help me get to Australia,” DeGeneres told the excited audience.
“So, I am actually for the first time in my life going to Australia. I’m going in March and I’m going to shoot a bunch of stuff in Melbourne and Sydney. We’re going to do tape pieces and meet the fans and hang out.”
It is believed DeGeneres and de Rossi will travel to Melbourne first and then Sydney to shoot the Australian specials, in the deal supported by Qantas.
DeGeneres said she would be heading to Australia on March 15 which would see her arrive in Melbourne over the Grand Prix weekend..
