In a live Grand Final decider tonight, 25-year-old Dami Im was crowned the winner of THE X FACTOR 2013, beating off competition from runner-up Taylor Henderson and third placed Jai Waetford.
On winning THE X FACTOR, Dami said, “I don’t believe that I’ve won, this is crazy! I want to win this for people like me who are dags and inspire them to dream big!”
Her mentor Dannii Minogue said, “We’re so thankful to everyone who voted for Dami, this has been an incredible experience.”
It was an emotional night on THE X FACTOR, with 14-year-old Jai being the first finalist to be eliminated. It was then between Dami and 20-year-old Taylor Henderson, with the public’s votes determining the winner.
Dami wins a recording contract with Sony Music and a management deal. Dami’s winning single, Alive, will be available digitally on iTunes a nd be serviced to radio stations across the country.
Last Night’s Grand Final show also saw a return from all THE X FACTOR finalists plus huge performances from Katy Perry, Guy Sebastian and Fall Out Boy.
The X Factor will return to 7 in 2014.
