True to its theme, Latin night really sizzled with sexy routines from our top nine couples. Sweaty torsos and gyrating hips were all on display and that was just from our hosts!

Samuel Johnson, flicked the switch from emotional to sexy and samba’d up close and personal as he opened the show with partner, Jorja. He scored 17, landing in seventh place on the leaderboard.

It was an unusually emotional week for Jett, breaking down in his opening interview lamenting on the enormous amount of pressure he puts on himself to succeed.

But Jett showed his strength and overcame his fears to pull off a “steamy and sensual” rhumba alongsideLily. The competitive lifesaver and model dedicated the dance to his best friend Jess watching on from the front row, who is a recovering quadriplegic.

While Jimmy Rees brought his Jimmy Sizzle and got down and dirty to a Pitbull track, Grant Denyer seemed far more concerned with Jimmy embracing his ‘Giggle’ to tell his daughters it was their bedtime.

Fitness guru Michelle Bridges proved she’s a survivor storming through a paso doble to the Destiny’s Child hit. Sharing a personal story of escaping an attempted attacker in her late teens, Michelle reflected on how she was determined to not let the incident define her.

Sir Curtly Ambrose once again couldn’t keep the smile off his face as he rocked out to Santana’sSmooth and received a best performance to date call from the judges but it was Cassandra Thorburn who got the audience talking with her cha cha. Albeit having legs for days she couldn’t drum up enough points from the judges once again leaving her at the bottom of the leaderboard.

Nothing says Latin like the Argentine Tango and Olympia Valance’s routine was red hot and ended with an immensely tricky lift. The gamble paid off for the actress who received a clean sweep of love from the judging panel and a season top score of 26.

Constance Hall proved she could bring the technique to her saucy samba routine, but her laser focus on one element of her performance saw the usual fun and pizzazz side drop. Perplexed by last weeks’ judges feedback she seemed content with what they had to say to her tonight, finishing sixth on the leaderboard with a score of 18.

Drag superstar Courtney Act finished the night with a Madonna homage from the La Isla Bonita video performing a samba with her partner Josh. While the judges all agreed this was not Courtney’s best performance, her vivacious and engaging routine resulted in a second placed score of 24.

Cassandra Thorburn and dance partner Marco Michelle and Aric and Jimmy and Alex, who all found themselves in the bottom three, on hearing that she was leaving, Cassandra said: “I am just really happy that people supported me and kept me here for as long as they did, they made me feel really special like a big hug from the public after a troublesome couple of year. “I’ve learnt a lot from this experience,” she said.

Next week it’s Movie Night and celebrities will be performing routines to the soundtracks of motion picture magic including a show stopping opener putting La La Land up against Bohemian Rhapsody.

Dancing with The Stars airs 7:30pm Mondays on 10
