Seven’s regular Carols offering is here and it has a new host combination in Mel Doyle and Matt
The much-loved Christmas event will star Australian music icon Jimmy Barnes, Tina Arena and include performances from The Wiggles, Samantha Jade and Johnny Ruffo. The Christmas cheer will continue with a special performance from the cast of Strictly Ballroom The Musical and Grease The Musical. The X Factor winner Dami Im and third placed Jai Waetford will also be taking to the stage.
This year marks Mel Doyle’s first year as Carols co-host and she can’t wait to present the event with her 4PM national news co-anchor and friend, Matt White. “I’m super excited to host this beautiful night with my charming buddy Matt,” the national news presenter says. “Carols has always been a part of my Christmas celebrations and now I’m a Mum, my children love going, so I’ve got some major cred with them by being a co-host this year.”
Matt White enjoyed hosting the Carols so much last year he jokes, “If I wasn’t asked back to host this Christmas I would have gatecrashed the party anyway!” “It’s such an unbelievable night,” he adds. “There is so much energy, passion and good will.
