Australian Survivor: First Contestants Revealed.

Ten has released a new trailer for it’s upcoming season of Australian Survivor.

The new series  will once again see 24 determined contestants marooned on a tropical island with little more than the clothes on their backs and the drive to be the Sole Survivor.

A former special operations commander, a model, an adventure guide, a plumber and a lime farmer are among the first eight contestants to be revealed ahead of the new series.

Faced with extreme temperatures and fierce tropical storms, contestants will be stripped to their core. The ultimate winner will walk away with a life-changing experience, half a million dollars and the coveted title of Australia’s Sole Survivor 2017.

Season two of the critically-acclaimed human drama will see the country’s best game players take Australian Survivor to a whole new level.

Network Ten Head of Entertainment and Factual Programming, Stephen Tate, said: “More than 20,000 Australians applied to be part of this spectacular series. The 24 people we have selected are incredible and represent one of the best casts we have ever assembled for a reality series. This year they are more knowing and they are playing the game much harder.”

The first eight contestants to be revealed are:

Aimee, 23, a plumber from Melbourne
Sarah, 22, a model from Perth.
Peter, 22, a digital advertising producer from Sydney;
. Mark W, 37, a former special operations commander from Perth;
Locky, 27, an adventure guide from Perth
; Joan, 29, an escape room owner from Sydney

Mark H, 51, a lime farmer from Toowoomba.

; Jarrad, 29, a photographer from Perth

Their bodies will be pushed to the extreme, as they compete in epic, physically-demanding challenges, while they mentally navigate their way through cunning and strategic gameplay.

Over 55 days, they must outwit, outlast and outplay each other to become the sole Survivor.

The new season of Australian Survivor is expected to air once Masterchef wraps on Ten
