Anthony Callea departs as final 3 revealed

Record-breaking pop star Anthony Callea was the latest celebrity to leave the jungle.

Anthony parachuted his way into the jungle over five weeks ago and has since tackled everything that has been thrown at him with vigour. A star in trials and challenges and well-loved in camp, Anthony was a big character among the jungle bunch.

During his time in camp, Anthony took part in eight trials. His standout moment came when he tackled the Tucker Trial, Hole Lotta Trouble, which required him to scale a 15 metre rock face and collect stars guarded by various angry African inhabitants. Anthony walked away with eight out of a possible nine stars.

In one of the season’s more memorable challenges, Anthony teamed with his camp “brother” Brendan Fevola for Lumberjacks, a secret mission that required the boys to have secret morning pampering sessions. After they sneaked a buffet breakfast, massage, manicure and a spray tan past the other camp members, their ruse was revealed and the camp was rewarded with a substantial coffee stash.

Before his departure, Anthony joined forces with Brendan one final time to face the terrifying Tucker Trial, Flash Flood 2.0: Flash Harder.

Chained inside a tank filling with water, together the close mates screeched and squealed as they dodged an assortment of water predators while trying to collect stars and free themselves from the filling chamber. The final challenge cementing their mateship as they returned with maximum stars for the camp.

Anthony formed strong bonds with Jo Beth Taylor, Shane Warne and Brendan. Anthony, Shane and Brendan referred to themselves as The Three Stooges when they discussed the possibility of being in the final three together. Although Anthony did not always see eye-to-eye with Laurina Fleure and Val Lehman, he was well respected during his time as Deputy Camp Leader under Paul “The Chief” Harragon’s leadership.
