Adam Walters Joins Ten

Walkley Award-winning journalist, Adam Walters, is joining TEN Eyewitness News First At Five as a Senior Reporter it has been announced.

In more than 35 years as a news journalist, Mr Walters has broken countless exclusive stories that exposed corruption and held the highest levels of government to account.  Mr Walters’ distinguished career in journalism has been acknowledged by his peers many times, including a Walkley Award in 2012 for reporting on the NSW Government ignoring its advisers and allowing a monopoly on the sale of ethanol. In 2007 Mr Walters was nominated for Walkley and Logie Awards for a series of exclusive reports that led to the resignation of NSW Police Minister, Carl Scully. In 2002 he shared a Logie Award and Walkley Award for the coverage of the Bali bombings. Mr Walters’ career has also seen him report on some of the biggest national and international stories, including the murder of Anita Cobby, the North Shore “Granny Killer”, the 1989 Newcastle NSW earthquake, the Ivan Milat murders, the Port Arthur massacre, the 1997 Thredbo landslide, the arrest of the Bali Nine heroin smugglers, the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami and the 2009 Black Saturday bush fires in Victoria.

Mr Walters said: “I am delighted to be joining Network Ten and look forward to making my contribution to the team. I am happy to be reuniting with my highly respected colleagues in TEN news management.”

Adam will begin at Ten in July.
