The X Factor has revealed it’s grand finalists.
Continuing their dominance in the competition, Amalia, Davey and Isaiah secured the highest amount of viewer votes from Sunday night’s Killer Tracks and Curveballs show, automatically earning their place in next Sunday’s grand final.
Third time in the bottom two didn’t prove lucky for Mel B’s BEATZ who were eliminated from The X Factor competition last night after judges Adam Lambert, Iggy Azalea and Guy Sebastian chose to put 17 year-old Vlado through to the grand final.
After winning praise from the judges on Sunday night’s show, Vlado found himself in the bottom two for the first time in the competition faced with a showdown with fellow ‘Underdogs’ contestants BEATZ.
For ‘Underdogs’ mentor Mel B, it was her “worst nightmare” come true. BEATZ sang for their life with Destiny’s Child’s Survivor, while Vladoperformed Cold Water by Major Lazer for his last chance to stay in the competition.
Adam said it was not an easy decision, but “had to trust his gut” sending Vlado through to the grand final.
“Last night I told you, you were my favourite person in the competition, you still are, so I am sending you through to the grand final,” said Iggy as she chose Vlado over BEATZ.
Guy admitted he had been critical of both acts, but on choosing Vlado, he said he was basing his decision on who he saw “as relevant right now for the industry.”
The judges’ unanimous decision spared Mel B from having to choose between her contestants.
“We’re never going to stop performing, we have so much fun on stage, that’s what life’s all about,” said Brooke of the girls’ plan to keep performing as BEATZ.
